Numerology compatibility calculator

Enter two birth dates. This computes both life path numbers, tells you how many couples in the world share your exact pairing, and checks whether the pairing survives the switch from one standard method to the other. About one couple in four discovers that it does not.

How does numerology compatibility work?

A chart takes two life path numbers and looks up the pairing in a table of which numbers suit which. The tables in different books do not agree with each other, and because a life path can change with the method used to compute it, about one couple in four gets a different verdict depending on which arithmetic the chart used.

What it just did

Two life paths, each computed twice. Method A sums every digit of the date at once and reduces. Method B reduces the month, day and year separately first, then sums and reduces. Both are standard, both are in print, and they return different numbers for 13.9% of all birthdays. The life path calculator goes through the arithmetic in detail.

Then it counted. Across all 46,021 real calendar dates from 1900 to 2025, enumerated in your browser, it worked out what share of all possible couples are a pairing of your two numbers. For two ordinary numbers that is about 2.5%, one couple in forty. The same number twice is about 1.2%. Those are the couples who were handed the same paragraph you were.

The one-in-four flip

Here is the part no compatibility chart mentions. If the two methods disagree for one birthday in seven, then for a couple, the chance that at least one partner's number changes with the method is one minus the chance that neither does. That comes to a little over one couple in four. For those couples the chart's verdict is not a fact about the pair; it is a fact about which book the chart's author learned from.

The tool checks this for you and says so when it applies. If it does, you have a clean test of what a compatibility reading is worth: read the paragraph for the Method A pairing, then the paragraph for the Method B pairing, and notice that both fit. They were written to.

The charts do not agree with each other

The tool does not print a compatibility verdict, and this is deliberate. There is no single table. One popular source pairs 1 with 3 and 5 and warns it off 4 and 6; another pairs 1 with 2 and 8. The number 7 is "best alone" in some books and "ideal with a 3" in others. Every author presents a table as the table, and a site that picked one would be adding one more voice to a disagreement rather than telling you anything.

What can be said with confidence is structural. Every table is symmetric, so it cannot say anything about who suits whom in a direction. Every number has at least one "ideal" partner and at least one "challenging" one, so every couple can be told either. And the descriptions of a good match and a difficult match are both written broadly enough that a couple who is told they are difficult will recognise themselves as readily as a couple told they are ideal. The numerology essay covers the 1949 classroom experiment that showed how reliably that recognition happens.

What "compatible" would have to mean

For a compatibility number to be a claim rather than a label, it would need to predict something: that ideal pairings stay together more often, or report being happier, or argue less. That prediction has never been demonstrated, and it would be easy to test, since birth dates are on every marriage record and divorce record in the world. The absence of that study from a tradition that has had a century to run it is itself information.

What does predict whether a relationship holds is dull by comparison: how the two people handle conflict, whether contempt has crept in, whether they still turn toward each other in small moments. The essay on manifesting a specific person goes through the evidence, and none of it involves a birthday.

Keep the conversation, not the number

If two people sit down with a chart and end up talking about how they actually handle money, or silence, or each other's families, the chart did something useful and it does not matter that the number was arbitrary. That conversation is the whole value. If you want to know whether anything you believe about the two of you holds up over a month of ordinary days, the free experiment on this site is the way to find out, and it asks for a criterion, not a date.
